Information on street parking in the area near the JCC:
1. The Berkeley Police Department will instruct parking enforcement officers to go easy on those attending High Holiday Services and parking in the radius around the JCC for longer than the posted time limit of 2 hours.
2. Please put a placard on your dashboard with that day's date and the explanation that you are attending services at the JCC. For placard to print for Rosh Hashanah CLICK HERE. For placard to print for Yom Kippur CLICK HERE.
3. This does NOT apply to metered parking.
$5 all-day parking is available in Safeway's underground lot, 1444 Shattuck Place, Berkeley.
1. Enter underground parking lot from Henry St.
2. At store's Customer Service Department pay $5 — cash only (donation to breast cancer charity).
3. Place Safeway-issued parking card on your dashboard's passenger side.
4. You can exit and re-enter using same card throughout day.
5. Car must be retrieved by 9pm when gate is closed. Otherwise, it can't be reopened before 7am the next morning!
