HALF-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Jewish Gateways is an inclusive and growing community that helps people explore personal connections with Judaism in relevant, inspiring, and meaningful ways. We offer holiday celebrations, family and adult learning, lifecycle events, and opportunities to promote compassion and justice.

We are looking for an Administrative Coordinator to support our programs who can:

  • Perform logistical and administrative tasks

  • Enjoy connecting to and communicating with our participants

  • Assist with marketing posts 

  • Help staff events

 

This is a part-time position requiring an average of 20-22 hours per week with flexible hours. The majority of the work can be done anywhere. One flexibly-timed meeting a week in Albany is required, as is attendance at scheduled events in Berkeley on Saturday or Sunday mornings 1-3 times a month.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating logistics and supplies and preparing materials for programs and events

  • Assisting in marketing programs using social media and email

  • Managing participant and donor records using a Salesforce database - performing data entry, generating reports

  • Tracking and reporting income and expenses, processing invoices and making deposits

  • Attending our “Growing Together” family program and our family holiday celebrations (a total of 1-3 weekend mornings/month) and acting as setup/cleanup coordinator, greeter and volunteer supervisor 

  • Performing administrative functions like mail collection, supply purchases, generating thank you letters, and file maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Two years of administrative or office management experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter, flexible, able to attend to detail and manage multiple projects through completion

  • Comfort learning and using online technologies and applications including Excel

  • Previous experience with Salesforce or a similar customer relations management (CRM) database

  • Previous Jewish and/or nonprofit-sector experience preferred
