Free Festival of Jewish Learning!

Sunday, May 31, 3:00-10:00pm, online

Be part of this unique, community-wide celebration of meaningful Jewish learning, bringing together people of all perspectives and backgrounds. Come for whichever topics interest you -- it's your choice.

The event is organized and sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay. Amazing teachers, ranging from secular to Orthodox, offer a variety of learning sessions on Jewish topics of every sort every hour throughout the event.

The event also includes family and children's activities.

This gathering celebrates the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, which commemorates the Jewish people receiving the Torah, and in particular the Ten Commandments. It is called a Tikkun Leyl Shavuot. Jewish Gateways cosponsors this event, and Rabbi Bridget Wynne teaches one of the sessions.

Rabbi Bridget's Session: The Ten Commandments for Those Who Don't Feel Commanded, 5:00-5:50pm

Join us for a fresh perspective that challenges us to "re-enchant" the familiar words of these commandments. We’ll expand their meaning and explore how they can help free us from the traps and dangers of modern American culture, whether or not we believe they were given to us by a commanding God.

WHO: No previous background is necessary, and all are welcome!

HOW: Register here for this free event.
