Rosh Hashanah Services

Celebrate the Jewish New Year! Join us for Rosh Hashanah Services.

Register early, space is limited.

When: October 2, 2024 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm PT and October 3, 2024 from 10:30 am - 12:15 pm PT

Where: Jewish Community Center of the East Bay and online via Zoom.

Who: We welcome all to our inclusive services: wandering Jews, wondering Jews, LGBTQIA+ folks, Jew-ish, interfaith relationships, people of color, singles, couples, families, multiracial relationships, single parents, adult children of interfaith families, Jews by choice, non-Jews, seekers, low-income households, multicultural relationships, cultural Jews, and older adults. 

You do not need to be located in the Bay Area to attend. We encourage you to invite family and friends locally and across the country!

What To Expect: Our services are focused on creating an open environment for participants to connect with Jewish tradition in ways that are personal and meaningful. We encourage questions, present opportunities for learning, and require no previous Jewish experience to attend. Our High Holiday services include both Hebrew and English, and no knowledge of Hebrew is needed.

Donations: Our services are supported entirely by the generous tax-deductible donations of attendees. To help cover the costs of the facilities, materials, and dedicated staff, we ask that each person donate $70 per evening or day service they wish to attend. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. It’s important to us that our services are financially accessible, so this suggested donation does not fully cover our expenses. We ask that you contribute as much as you are able so we can continue to welcome all. 

Registration: Your registration offers you the option to attend our in-person services at the JCC East Bay and/or our virtual services. You do not need to decide in advance, although we ask for your preference as part of our registration process. A link to our virtual services will be emailed to all who register. Look for this link two weeks ahead of services.

Accessibility: The JCC East Bay is ADA accessible. If you have concerns or need special accommodation, please email us in advance at admin@jewishgateways.org. For those concerned about COVID but would still like to attend in person, we will offer masks and have seating in the outdoor covered courtyard.
